Like so many, I grew up in a military family where travel was simply a part of life. I had my first passport before I could tie my shoes. Whether it was exploring new areas of the world or going home to visit family, we were on the go. Before I could fully embrace my new surroundings, I was already calling a new place home (usually not by choice).

Moving into adulthood, I can't tell you how many trips I've missed out on because, whoever  I was traveling with at the time, suddenly couldn't go. I realized something important: I was missing out on new adventures by waiting on others. I hadn't discovered the freedom I was looking for didn’t require a group, it just required courage. That’s when I discovered solo travel.

Was I nervous at first? Absolutely! But once I learned how to research and plan properly, something beautiful happened: I found peace. I discovered that solo travel isn’t just about seeing new places, it’s about reconnecting with yourself, resetting your spirit, and giving your mind the space to fully rest.
